  • I'm confused about sizing, how do I know my size?
Sizes might vary from style to style and much depends on the shape of your feet.

The website provides a Size Guide to assist with international conversions and can be found for every footwear selected. If you are still uncertain about the size, you can contact us or find your closest store to try them on.

Remember, we do accept returns should the fit not be suitable.
  • How do Blundstone boots fit?
Blundstone boots typically have a loose fit. There should be roughly a thumb width of space from your toes to the top of the boots. When walking, a centimetre or so of heel lift is common.

We generally recommend that women buy a UK size lower than they would normally when selecting a unisex style. The styles in the Women’s series are true to size. Please refer to our Size Guide or call us for advice, 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday on 0800 132 194.

If you have the correct size but the boot still feels a bit generous, you can add extra insoles or thicker socks to take up the space.

The chisel toe Dress Series tend to be more generous than their round toe counterparts, the Originals and the Classics.

The Blundstone half sizes indicate an increase in the width, not the length of a Blundstone boot.

  • Are Blundstone boots waterproof?
Leather boots are not able to be 100% waterproof but we make them as water-repellent as the material will allow whilst still enabling for the foot to breathe. Blundstone’s unique construction using a limited number of seams and stitching means there are fewer places for water to get in.

The Blundstone Thermal Series have improved water-repellent properties. They have treated premium leather uppers, Thinsulate insulation, latex seams, waterproof elastics and a sheepskin wool lined footbed for added comfort and warmth.

All of our styles offer levels of water-resistance and water-repellence but are not waterproof.

Read our Boot Care section for information on how to look after your boots and prolong their life.

You can purchase Blundstone care products from this website.
  • What is the difference between water-resistant and water-repellent?
Water-resistant products have the lowest level of resilience, offering some water protection.

Sometimes the material has been coated with a very light substance making water penetration more difficult and is usually able to withstand a light rain shower.

Water-repellent products provide greater protection than those that are water-resistant but not sufficient to be labelled waterproof. Water-repellent products are usually coated with a more resilient substance to make water penetration even more difficult.
  • How do I care for my Blundstone boots?
Extend the life of your Blundstone boots by cleaning them regularly. We recommend removing soil, salt and mud from the seams and leather when they appear, whatever the style or material.

We strongly recommend that Blundstone boots are stored in a dry, airy space. They should not be stored near any source of heat or damp.

Read our Boot Care section for information on how to look after your boots.

After cleaning you can renovate your boots with the specially created Blundstone care range. There are creams for premium leather uppers, and spray for suedes and nubucks. Caring for your boots will help to prolong their life.
  • Are Blundstone boots good for winter?
Blundstone boots (except the Summer Series) are good for wearing during the winter months.

The range of styles we offer include the much loved round toe design found in the Originals and Classics, the chisel toe found in the Dress Series and more recent designs that include a women’s heeled boot and a men’s City Dress boots.

The Thermal Series have added water-repellent properties.

  • Are Blundstone boots for hiking?
Blundstone boots are an excellent all-round, comfortable boot for everyday and work wear. Many outdoor professionals such as farmers choose to wear them because of their durability and in-built comfort.
  • How to soften Blundstone boots?
Blundstone boots are lightweight and comfortable from the outset. Wearing them regularly will help to soften and make them even more comfortable.
  • How long do Blundstone boots last?
How long your boots last will depend on a number of factors. Where will they be worn? How often will they be worn? What will they be exposed to? How well will they be cared for? Every one experiences different wear and tear with their footwear, so the lifespan of a Blundstone can vary.

Assuming there are no faults and there is an average amount of wear and tear, we would expect Blundstone boots to last between 2 to 7 years, with all of the above factors taken into consideration. Please note this does not imply or guarantee an expectation of service life.

Blundstone boots are made from premium, durable materials but will benefit from regular care and cleaning. To extend their life read our Boot Care tips and get the most out of your Blundstone boots.

  • What are the differences between the Originals' and Classics' Series?
Our Originals' and Classics' Series are home to some of our most popular styles—like our iconic #500 and our best-selling #585. While they both feature our instantly recognisable design, there are some differences which we've outlined below.

    — Our Classics' Series has a wider fit compared to our Originals' Series, so is great for those who need a little extra room.

    — Our Classics' Series also has a leather lining for warmth, and additional cushioning in the footbed for added softness.
